Noosa Day Hospital Now Open | Noosaville, QLD
The newly completed Noosa Day Hospital is now open, providing the Sunshine Coast’s first standalone, purpose-built multidisciplinary day hospital and bringing specialist care closer to the local community.
Located within the Noosa Specialist Medical Centre on Hofmann Drive, the single-level facility provides three operating theatres supported by recovery, treatment, consultation and clinical support spaces.
The design is driven by clear operational planning, with clinical flows carefully separated to support infection control and efficient movement. A dedicated Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) follows a one-way workflow from decontamination through sterilisation to sterile storage, supporting safe and efficient clinical operations.
Patient experience is also central to the planning, with the journey from admission through pre-operative care, treatment and staged recovery carefully coordinated to provide clarity and comfort.
The project brought together our Sunshine Coast and Brisbane studios, combining local knowledge and health sector expertise across the design process. MODE worked closely with Cura Day Hospitals Group, Integral Construction and the broader consultant team to resolve the complex clinical, technical and operational requirements of the facility. This collaborative approach reflects our 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗 By Design philosophy, bringing people, disciplines and ideas together throughout the design process.
The result is a contemporary day hospital that balances clinical efficiency with a calm and considered patient environment, supporting specialist care closer to home.
