QRS Accessibility Upgrades | Boondall, Morayfield & Strathpine, QLD
MODE delivered Architectural, Landscape Architecture and Wayfinding services for the Queensland Rail Station Accessibility Upgrade Program across Morayfield, Strathpine and Boondall Stations within Brisbane’s metropolitan rail network.
The upgrades included new pedestrian overpasses with compliant lifts and stairs, platform extensions and platform height increases at assisted boarding zones, upgraded shelters, lighting and CCTV upgrades, active transport connections and comprehensive signage and wayfinding improvements. Morayfield Station also included a new station building and compliant accessible amenities.
MODE led the integration of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Wayfinding within a coordinated BIM environment, enabling efficient consultant coordination, clash detection reviews and streamlined project delivery. Working closely with Queensland Rail and the consultant team, MODE developed practical and buildable solutions that balanced accessibility compliance, passenger safety, operational continuity and constructability.
The project demonstrates MODE’s experience delivering coordinated and construction-ready design outcomes within complex live rail environments while maintaining uninterrupted station operations.
