Mater Misericordiae Hospital Mackay Operating Theatre Expansion | Mackay, QLD

Delivered in two stages at Mater Mackay Hospital, the project increased surgical capacity and upgraded the Central Sterile Services Department (CSD).

Works included two new operating theatres, a procedure room, expanded pre- and post-operative patient areas, and an enlarged and upgraded CSD. A standalone 50-space staff car park was also delivered as part of the project.

To minimise disruption to patient services, construction and staging were carefully coordinated with existing hospital operations. New equipment and supporting infrastructure were incorporated to ensure compliance with current codes and standards.

Forming part of a broader hospital masterplan, elements of the development were planned to allow future relocation and integration with additional services. The project improved operational efficiency and provided increased capacity for surgical services within the hospital.
