Manunda Place | Darwin, NT
MODE has delivered Interior Design services for Manunda Place, a new nine storey building with 10,000sqm of space in the CBD of Darwin.
Manunda is a purpose-built mixed use facility consisting of a secure underground carpark, mix-use public interface and dedicated NTG agency offices, with the Department of Health as anchor tenant.
MODE’s vision for this project was to integrate the unique location of this building, the Northern Territory, into our response to encourage renewed enthusiasm for Darwin’s commercial precinct.
Timbers were used throughout the joinery to provide material warmth, creating friendly and approachable areas. Strong moments of colour to the furniture and decals, reflecting the natural scenery of the area, were used to give the spaces a sense of play, while also assisting with wayfinding. Overall the offices provide a refreshing and uplifting atmosphere for the inhabitants.
The base building design has a strong identity allowing significant natural light into the work spaces and the interior fitout complements this, remaining open and inviting.
