MODE Sydney worked with Landcom to deliver a new community and youth centre for Camden Council in Oran Park’s new town centre.
The building sits adjacent to the youth precinct and skate park, and will be used by a variety of groups, including sporting, community, school and training groups. It will provide spaces for meetings, conferences, local business and private events as well as flexible spaces for both indoor and outdoor performances.
Connectivity to the skate park, both physical and visual, was a major consideration of the design. The forecourt will provide a transitional space between the skate park and the building’s foyer, while the form of the building including the curved pink roof are a reference to the racing history of Oran Park.
