Based on an existing high-level wayfinding masterplan, our task was to develop and document a workable signage system and suite of designs.
MODE ratified the strategy into a modular signage system built around the development of a scalable layout grid, colour coding and typographic standards.
The initial focus of this task was for ‘natural areas’ that includes parks of all sizes (divided into three categories) and conservation reserves.
After a number of field trips and audits, MODE ratified the masterplan’s conceptual ideas into a modular signage system. Central to this was the development of a scalable layout grid and typographic standards.
The successful delivery of the Natural Areas Signage Manual quickly led to the scope being extended to the broader range of signage categories.
