Waikeria Prison Development | Award of Merit
Waikeria Prison recognised with an Award of Merit
Waikeria Prison has been recognised with an Award of Merit in the Civic, Health & Arts Property category at the Property Council New Zealand Industry Awards.
Delivered through a landmark public-private partnership, the project represents a significant step forward in the evolution of corrections infrastructure in Aotearoa New Zealand. Designed to support rehabilitation, wellbeing and long-term operational performance, the facility places a strong emphasis on human-centred planning, cultural responsiveness and creating environments that support positive outcomes for both staff and those in care.
MODE was proud to contribute to the delivery of this complex project as part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside Ara Poutama Aotearoa Department of Corrections, Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors, Robert Bird Group and a wide range of specialist consultants and stakeholders. The project exemplifies our CONNECTED BY DESIGN philosophy, bringing together diverse expertise, perspectives and disciplines to create a more integrated and responsive environment.
The recognition reflects the collective effort of all project partners and the shared commitment to delivering facilities that respond to contemporary operational requirements while acknowledging the cultural, social and environmental context in which they operate.
Congratulations to the entire project team on this achievement.
