Our vision for the ICCR was simply to remedy the disconnect between the town centre, its community and the existing urban planning strategies in place to better address the needs and distribution of the populace.

This significant opportunity for the revitalisation program reinforced the primacy of the city centre as the retail, commercial, entertainment, cultural and civic heart of the city by focusing the most intense development in the Ipswich City Centre Core location. Our proposal sought to peel back and unravel the existing layers in a staged process. Introducing a number of overlays that will create a vibrant, sustainable city centre, we proposed to improve key components such as connectivity, land use mix, density and identity to re-establish a bustling, well integrated city fabric.
