Griffith Aerodrome Expansion | Griffith, NSW

Griffith Aerodrome is a vital economic and infrastructure asset for Griffith which acts as an important link to the broader regional community and back to the metropolis of Sydney.

Increasing demand for travel meant that the existing 1960’s terminal building had reached its used by date and limited the carriers that were able to provide services to the region.

Through a collaborative consultation process with the multiple stakeholders, MODE distilled the broad range of requirements into a concise brief that delivered on the operational, aspirational and economic drivers for the project. Tight budgets meant that the efficient use of the existing building fabric within the new building was essential. Operational areas were rationalised and the functions of departure and arrival are effectively separated yet easily accessible and legible.

The Griffith community now has an asset that will continue to serve the growing need long into the future.
